The fine folks at Square were nice enough to cruise on over to our LA office this week and show off the game in person, giving us a chance to play some local multiplayer across Wii and DS as a team. Whether you pick this baby up on DS or Wii, you'll get the same experience: Lots of multiplayer fun, and the ability to play locally or online with anyone DS or Wii user alike. Those picking the game up for Nintendo's console won't be blown away by the visuals (though we could stop to make about 100 jokes about how "For a Wii game, the DS port doesn't look that bad!" – we won't do that though) but at the exact same price as the portable rendition, there's some fun to be had for sure. Both the DS and Wii versions of Echoes of Time are hitting on the same day, asking the same price, but allowing DS and Wii owners to party up locally or online a first for the two systems. What if… Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Echoes of Time is admittedly an odd game, taking the DS game and emulating it on Wii with functionality of the Wii-mote and buttons in place of the stylus and, well, buttons.
